Und er führte mich hinein in den Tempel und maß die Pfeiler an den Wänden; die waren zu jeder Seite sechs Ellen breit, soweit das Haus war.

Then the man brought me into the outer sanctuary and measured the side pillars to be six cubits wide (note: 6 (long) cubits is approximately 10.5 feet or 3.2 meters; also in verses 3, 5, and 8.) on each side.

Und die Tür war zehn Ellen weit; aber die Wände zu beiden Seiten an der Tür waren jede fünf Ellen breit. Und er maß den Raum im Tempel; der hatte vierzig Ellen in die Länge und zwanzig Ellen in die Breite.

He also measured the length of the outer sanctuary to be forty cubits, and the width to be twenty cubits.

Und er ging inwendig hinein und maß die Pfeiler der Tür zwei Ellen; und die Tür hatte sechs Ellen, und die Breite zu beiden Seiten an der Tür je sieben Ellen.

And he went into the inner sanctuary and measured the side pillars at the entrance to be two cubits wide (note: 7 (long) cubits is approximately 12.25 feet or 3.7 meters.). The entrance was six cubits wide, and the walls on each side were seven cubits wide.

Und er maß zwanzig Ellen in die Breite am Tempel. Und er sprach zu mir: Dies ist das Allerheiligste.

Then he measured the room adjacent to the inner sanctuary (note: Or the length of the inner sanctuary) to be twenty cubits long and twenty cubits wide (note: The room was approximately 35 feet long and 35 feet wide (10.7 meters long and 10.7 meters wide).). And he said to me, “This is the Most Holy Place.”

Und er maß die Wand des Hauses sechs Ellen dick. Daran waren Gänge allenthalben herum, geteilt in Gemächer, die waren allenthalben vier Ellen weit.

Next he measured the wall of the temple to be six cubits (note: 4 (long) cubits is approximately 7 feet or 2.1 meters.) thick, and the width of each side room around the temple was four cubits.

Und derselben Gemächer waren je dreißig, dreimal übereinander, und reichten bis auf die Wand des Hauses, an der die Gänge waren allenthalben herum, und wurden also festgehalten, dass sie in des Hauses Wand nicht eingriffen.

The side rooms were arranged one above another in three levels of thirty rooms each. There were ledges all around the wall of the temple to serve as supports for the side rooms, so that the supports would not be fastened into the wall of the temple itself.

Und die Gänge rings um das Haus her mit ihren Gemächern waren umso weiter, je höher sie lagen; und aus dem untern ging man in den mittleren und aus dem mittleren in den obersten.

The side rooms surrounding the temple widened at each successive level, because the structure surrounding the temple ascended by stages corresponding to the narrowing of the temple wall as it rose upward. And so a stairway went up from the lowest story to the highest, through the middle one.

Und ich sah am Hause eine Erhöhung ringsumher als Grundlage der Gänge, die hatte eine volle Rute von sechs Ellen bis an den Rand.

I saw that the temple had a raised base all around it, forming the foundation of the side rooms. It was the full length of a rod, six long cubits.

Und die Breite der Wand außen an den Gängen war fünf Ellen; und es war ein freigelassener Raum an den Gemächern am Hause.

The outer wall of the side rooms was five cubits thick, and the open area between the side rooms of the temple

Und die Breite bis zu den Kammern war zwanzig Ellen um das Haus herum.

and the outer chambers was twenty cubits wide all around the temple.

Und es waren zwei Türen an den Gängen nach dem freigelassenen Raum, eine gegen Mitternacht, die andere gegen Mittag; und der freigelassene Raum war fünf Ellen weit ringsumher.

The side rooms opened into this area, with one entrance on the north and another on the south. The open area was five cubits wide all around.

Und das Gebäude am Hofraum gegen Abend war siebzig Ellen weit und die Mauer des Gebäudes war fünf Ellen breit allenthalben umher, und es war neunzig Ellen lang.

Now the building that faced the temple courtyard on the west was seventy cubits (note: 90 (long) cubits is approximately 157.5 feet or 48 meters.) wide (note: 70 (long) cubits is approximately 122.5 feet or 37.3 meters.), and the wall of the building was five cubits thick all around, with a length of ninety cubits.

Und er maß die Länge des Hauses, die hatte hundert Ellen; und der Hofraum samt dem Gebäude und seinen Mauern war auch hundert Ellen lang.

Then he measured the temple to be a hundred cubits long (note: 100 (long) cubits is approximately 175 feet or 53.3 meters; similarly in verses 14 and 15.), and the temple courtyard and the building with its walls were also a hundred cubits long.

Und die Weite der vordern Seite des Hauses samt dem Hofraum gegen Morgen war auch hundert Ellen.

The width of the temple courtyard on the east, including the front of the temple, was a hundred cubits.

Und er maß die Länge des Gebäudes am Hofraum, welches hinter ihm liegt, mit seinen Umgängen von der Seite bis zur andern hundert Ellen, und den innern Tempel und die Hallen im Vorhofe

Next he measured the length of the building facing the temple courtyard at the rear of the temple, including its galleries on each side; it was a hundred cubits. The outer sanctuary, the inner sanctuary, and the porticoes facing the court,

samt den Schwellen, den engen Fenstern und den drei Umgängen ringsumher; und es war Tafelwerk allenthalben herum.

as well as the thresholds and the beveled windows and the galleries all around with their three levels opposite the threshold, were overlaid with wood on all sides. They were paneled from the ground to the windows, and the windows were covered.

Er maß auch, wie hoch von der Erde bis zu den Fenstern war und wie breit die Fenster sein sollten; und maß vom Tor bis zum Allerheiligsten auswendig und inwendig herum.

In the space above the outside of the entrance to the inner sanctuary on all the walls, spaced evenly around the inner and outer sanctuary,

Und am ganzen Hause herum waren Cherubim und Palmlaubwerk zwischen die Cherubim gemacht.

were alternating carved cherubim and palm trees. Each cherub had two faces:

Und ein jeder Cherub hatte zwei Angesichter: auf einer Seite wie ein Menschenkopf, auf der andern Seite wie ein Löwenkopf.

the face of a man was toward the palm tree on one side, and the face of a young lion was toward the palm tree on the other side. They were carved all the way around the temple.

Vom Boden an bis hinauf über die Tür waren die Cherubim und die Palmen geschnitzt, desgleichen an der Wand des Tempels.

Cherubim and palm trees were carved on the wall of the outer sanctuary from the floor to the space above the entrance.

Und die Türpfosten im Tempel waren viereckig, und war alles artig aneinander gefügt.

The outer sanctuary had a rectangular doorframe, and the doorframe of the sanctuary was similar.

Und der hölzerne Altar war drei Ellen hoch und zwei Ellen lang und breit, und seine Ecken und alle seine Seiten waren hölzern. und er sprach zu mir: Das ist der Tisch, der vor dem HErrn stehen soll.

There was an altar of wood three cubits high and two cubits square. Its corners, base, and sides were of wood. And the man told me, “This is the table that is before the LORD.”

Und die Türen am Tempel und am Allerheiligsten

Both the outer sanctuary and the inner sanctuary had double doors,

hatten zwei Türflügel, und ein jeder derselben hatte zwei Blätter, die man auf und zu tat.

and each door had two swinging panels. There were two panels for one door and two for the other.

Und waren auch Cherubim und Palmlaubwerk daran wie an den Wänden. Und ein hölzerner Aufgang war außen vor der Halle.

Cherubim and palm trees like those on the walls were carved on the doors of the outer sanctuary, and there was a wooden canopy outside, on the front of the portico.

Und es waren enge Fenster und viel Palmlaubwerk herum an der Halle und an den Wänden.

There were beveled windows and palm trees on the sidewalls of the portico. The side rooms of the temple also had canopies.
