And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
" Fils de l'homme, dis au prince de Tyr : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Parce que ton cœur s'est élevé, et que tu as dit : " Je suis un dieu, je siège sur un trône de dieu au milieu des mers ", alors que tu es un homme et non pas un dieu, quoique tu rendes ton cœur pareil au cœur d'un dieu :
“Son of man, tell the ruler of Tyre that this is what the Lord GOD says: Your heart is proud, and you have said, ‘I am a god; I sit in the seat of gods in the heart of the sea.’ Yet you are a man and not a god, though you have regarded your heart as that of a god.
— Voici que tu es plus sage que Daniel ; rien de secret ne t'est caché ;
Behold, you are wiser than Daniel; no secret is hidden from you!
par ta sagesse et ton intelligence, tu t'es acquis de la richesse, et tu as entassé de l'or et de l'argent, dans tes trésors ;
By your wisdom and understanding you have gained your wealth and amassed gold and silver for your treasuries.
par la grandeur de ta sagesse, par ton commerce, tu as accru ta richesse, et, dans ta richesse, ton cœur s'est élevé, —
By your great skill in trading you have increased your wealth, but your heart has grown proud because of it.
à cause de cela, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Parce que tu as rendu ton cœur pareil au cœur d'un dieu,
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Because you regard your heart as the heart of a god,
à cause de cela, voici que je fais venir contre toi des étrangers, féroces entre tous les peuples ; ils tireront l'épée contre les chefs-d'œuvre de ta sagesse, et ils profaneront ta splendeur.
behold, I will bring foreigners against you, the most ruthless of nations. They will draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom and will defile your splendor.
Ils te feront descendre dans la fosse, et tu mourras de la mort de ceux qui sont tués, au sein des mers.
They will bring you down to the Pit, and you will die a violent death in the heart of the seas.
Diras-tu encore : " Je suis un dieu ", en présence de ton meurtrier, quand tu es un homme et non pas un dieu, dans la main de celui qui t'égorge ?
Will you still say, ‘I am a god,’ in the presence of those who slay you? You will be only a man, not a god, in the hands of those who wound you.
Tu mourras de la mort des incirconcis par la main des étrangers ; car moi j'ai parlé, — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh. "
You will die the death of the uncircumcised at the hands of foreigners. For I have spoken, declares the Lord GOD.”

Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
et dis-lui : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Tu étais le sceau de la perfection, plein de sagesse et parfait en beauté.
“Son of man, take up a lament for the king of Tyre and tell him that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
Tu étais en Eden, dans un jardin de Dieu ; tu étais couvert de pierres précieuses, sardoine, topaze et diamant, chrysolithe, onyx et jaspe, saphir, escarboucle, émeraude et or ; tu avais à ton service des tambourins et des fifres, préparés le jour où tu fus créé.
You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every kind of precious stone adorned you (note: The precise identification of some of these gemstones is uncertain.): ruby, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire (note: Or lapis lazuli), turquoise, and emerald. Your mountings and settings were crafted in gold, prepared on the day of your creation.
Tu étais le chérubin oint pour protéger ; je t'avais placé sur la sainte montagne de Dieu ; tu y étais ; tu marchais au milieu des pierres de feu.
You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for I had ordained you. You were on the holy mountain of God; you walked among the fiery stones.
Tu fus parfait dans tes voies depuis le jour où tu fus créé, jusqu'à ce que l'iniquité se trouva en toi.
From the day you were created you were blameless in your ways—until wickedness was found in you.
En multipliant ton trafic, ton intérieur s'est rempli de violence, et tu as péché, et je t'ai banni de la montagne de Dieu, et je t'ai fait périr, ô chérubin protecteur, au milieu des pierres de feu.
By the vastness of your trade, you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mountain of God, and I banished you, O guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones.
Ton cœur s'est élevé à cause de ta beauté ; tu as perverti ta sagesse par l'effet de ta splendeur. Je t'ai précipité par terre ; je t'ai donné en spectacle aux rois.
Your heart grew proud of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor; so I cast you to the earth; I made you a spectacle before kings.
A force d'iniquité, par l'injustice de ton commerce, tu as profané tes sanctuaires ; et j'ai fait sortir un feu du milieu de toi, c'est lui qui t'a dévoré ; et je t'ai réduit en cendres sur la terre, aux yeux de tous ceux qui te voyaient.
By the multitude of your iniquities and the dishonesty of your trading you have profaned your sanctuaries. So I made fire come from within you, and it consumed you. I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the eyes of all who saw you.
Tous ceux qui te connaissaient parmi les peuples sont dans la stupeur à cause de toi ; tu es devenu un objet d'épouvante ; et pour jamais tu n'es plus. "
All the nations who know you are appalled over you. You have come to a horrible end and will be no more.’”
La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes :
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
" Fils de l'homme, tourne ta face vers Sidon, prophétise sur elle,
“Son of man, set your face against Sidon and prophesy against her.
et dis : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Voici que je viens à toi, Sidon ; je vais me glorifier au milieu de toi. On saura que je suis Yahweh quand j'exercerai des jugements contre elle, et que je me sanctifierai en elle.
And you are to declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I am against you, O Sidon, and I will be glorified within you. They will know that I am the LORD when I execute judgments against her and demonstrate My holiness through her.
J'enverrai contre elle la peste, et il y aura du sang dans ses rues ; il tombera au milieu d'elle des victimes de l'épée qui la frappera de toutes parts ; et l'on saura que je suis Yahweh.
I will send a plague against her and shed blood in her streets; the slain will fall within her, while the sword is against her on every side. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
Alors il n'y aura plus pour la maison d'Israël d'épine malfaisante ou de ronce douloureuse, parmi tous ses voisins qui la méprisent ; et l'on saura que je suis le Seigneur Yahweh.
For the people of Israel will no longer face a pricking brier or a painful thorn from all around them who treat them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the Lord GOD.’
Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Lorsque je rassemblerai la maison d'Israël du milieu des peuples parmi lesquels elle est dispersée, je me sanctifierai en eux aux yeux des nations ; et ils habiteront sur leur terre, que j'aie donnée à mon serviteur, à Jacob.
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they have been scattered, I will show Myself holy among them in the sight of the nations. Then they will dwell in their own land, which I have given to My servant Jacob.
Ils y habiteront en sûreté ; ils bâtiront des maisons et planteront des vignes ; ils l'habiteront en sûreté, quand j'aurai exercé des jugements sur tous leurs voisins qui les méprisent. Et l'on saura que je suis Yahweh leur Dieu. "
And there they will dwell securely, build houses, and plant vineyards. They will dwell securely when I execute judgments against all those around them who treat them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God.’”
