Υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, στήρισον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἄμμὼν καὶ προφήτευσον ἐπʼ αὐτούς,
“Son of man, set your face against the Ammonites and prophesy against them.
καὶ ἐρεῖς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἄμμών Ἀκούσατε λόγον Κυρίου Τάδε λέγει Κύριος Ἀνθʼ ὧν ἐπεχάρητε ἐπὶ τὰ ἅγιά μου ὅτι ἐβεβηλώθη, καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ ὅτι ἠφανίσθη, καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Ἰούδα ὅτι ἐπορεύθησαν ἐν αἰχμαλωσίᾳ,
Tell the Ammonites to hear the word of the Lord GOD, for this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you exclaimed, “Aha!” when My sanctuary was profaned, when the land of Israel was laid waste, and when the house of Judah went into exile,
διὰ τοῦτο ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ παραδίδωμι ὑμᾶς τοῖς υἱοῖς Κέδεμ εἰς κληρονομίαν, καὶ κατασκηνώσουσιυ ἐν τῇ ἀπαρτείᾳ αὐτῶν ἐν σοί, καὶ δώσουσιν ἐν σοὶ τὰ σκηνώματα αὐτῶν· αὐτοὶ φάγονται τοὺς καρποὺς σου, καὶ αὐτοὶ πίονται τὴν πιότητά σου.
therefore I will indeed give you as a possession to the people of the East. They will set up their camps and pitch their tents among you. They will eat your fruit and drink your milk.
καὶ δώσω τὴν πόλιν τοῦ Ἄμμὼν εἰς νομὰς καμήλων, καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἄμμὼν εἰς νομὴν προβάτων· καὶ ἐπιγνώσεσθε διότι ἐγὼ Κύριος.
I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels, and Ammon (note: Hebrew and the Ammonites) a resting place for sheep. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’
διότι τάδε λέγει Κύριος Ανθʼ ὧν ἐκρότησας τὴν χεῖρά σου καὶ ἐπεψόφησας τῷ ποδί σου, καὶ ἐπέχαρας ἐκ ψυχῆς σου ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν τοῦ Ἰσραήλ,
For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you clapped your hands and stomped your feet and rejoiced over the land of Israel with a heart full of contempt,
διὰ τοῦτο ἐκτενῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ δώσω σε εἰς διαρπαγὴν ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν, καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω σε ἐκ τῶν λαῶν, καὶ ἀπολῶ σε ἐκ τῶν χωρῶν ἀπωλείᾳ· καὶ ἐπιγνώσει διότι ἐγὼ Κύριος.
therefore I will indeed stretch out My hand against you and give you as plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples and exterminate you from the countries. I will destroy you, and you will know that I am the LORD.’
Τάδε λέγει Κύριος Ἀνθʼ ὧν εἶπεν Μωάβ Ἰδοὺ οὐχ ὃν τρόπον πάντα τὰ ἔθνη οἶκος Ἰσραὴλ καὶ Ἰούδα;
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because Moab and Seir (note: LXX does not include and Seir.) said, “Look, the house of Judah is like all the other nations,”
διὰ τοῦτο ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ παραλύω τὸν ὦμον Μωὰβ ἀπὸ πόλεων ἀκρωτηρίων αὐτοῦ, ἐκλεκτὴν γῆν, οἶκον Θασιμούθ, ἐπαναγωγῆς πόλεως παραθαλασσίας,
therefore I will indeed expose the flank of Moab beginning with its frontier cities—Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim—the glory of the land.
τοὺς υἱοὺς Κέδεμ ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἄμμών· δέδωκα αὐτῷ εἰς κληρονομίαν, ὅπως μὴ μνεία γένηται τῶν υἱῶν Ἄμμών.
I will give it along with the Ammonites as a possession to the people of the East, so that the Ammonites will no longer be remembered among the nations.
καὶ εἰς Μωὰβ ποιήσω ἐκδίκησιν, καὶ ἐπιγνώσονται διότι ἐγὼ Κύριος.
So I will execute judgments on Moab, and they will know that I am the LORD.’
Τάδε λέγει Κύριος Ἀνθʼ ὧν ἐποίησεν ἡ Ἰδουμαία ἐν τῷ ἐκδικῆσαι αὐτοὺς ἐκδίκησιν εἰς τὸν οἶκον Ἰούδα, καὶ ἐμνησικάκησαν καὶ ἐξεδίκησαν δίκην,
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because Edom acted vengefully against the house of Judah, and in so doing incurred grievous guilt,
διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει Κύριος Καὶ ἐκτενῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ τὴν Ἰδουμαίαν, καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω ἐξ αὐτῆς ἄνθρωπον καὶ κτῆνος, καὶ θήσομαι αὐτὴν ἔρημον, καὶ ἐκ Θαιμὰν διωκόμενοι ἐν ῤομφαίᾳ πεσοῦνται·
therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: I will stretch out My hand against Edom and cut off from it both man and beast. I will make it a wasteland, and from Teman to Dedan they will fall by the sword.
καὶ δώσω ἐκδίκησίν μου ἐπὶ τὴν Ἰδουμαίαν ἐν χειρὶ λαοῦ μου Ἰσραήλ, καὶ ποιήσουσιν ἐν τῇ Ἰδουμαίᾳ κατὰ τὴν ἀργὴν μου καὶ κατὰ τὸν θυμόν μου· καὶ ἐπιγνώσονται τὴν ἐκδίκησίν μου, λέγει Κύριος.
I will take My vengeance on Edom by the hand of My people Israel, and they will deal with Edom according to My anger and wrath. Then they will know My vengeance, declares the Lord GOD.’
Διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει Κύριος Ἀνθʼ ὧν ἐποίησαν οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι ἐν ἐκδικήσει καὶ ἐξανέστησαν ἐκδίκησιν, ἐπιχαίροντες ἐκ ψυχῆς τοῦ ἐξαλεῖψαι ἕως ἑνός,
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because the Philistines acted in vengeance, taking vengeance with malice of soul to destroy Judah with ancient hostility,
διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει Κύριος Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐκτενῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους, καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω Κρῆτας, καὶ ἀπολῶ τοὺς καταλοίπους τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν παραλίαν·
therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I will stretch out My hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy the remnant along the coast.
καὶ ποιήσω ἐν αὐτοῖς ἐκδικήσεις μεγάλας, καὶ ἐπιγνώσονται διότι ἐγὼ Κύριος, ἐν τῷ δοῦναι τὴν ἐκδίκησίν μου ἐπʼ αὐτούς.
I will execute great vengeance against them with furious reproof. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I lay My vengeance upon them.’”
