Und es geschah das Wort des HERRn zu mir im neunten Jahr, am zehnten Tage des zehnten Monats, und sprach:
In the ninth year, on the tenth day of the tenth month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Du Menschenkind, schreib diesen Tag an, ja, eben diesen Tag; denn der König zu Babel hat sich eben an diesem Tage wider Jerusalem gelagert.
“Son of man, write down today’s date, for on this very day the king of Babylon has laid siege to Jerusalem.
Und gib dem ungehorsamen Volk ein Gleichnis und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der Herr HERR: Setze einen Topf zu, setze zu und gieß Wasser hinein;
Now speak a parable to this rebellious house and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Put the pot on the fire; put it on and pour in the water.
tue die Stücke zusammen darein, die hinein sollen, alle besten Stücke, die Lenden und Schultern, und fülle ihn mit den besten Knochenstücken;
Put in the pieces of meat, every good piece—thigh and shoulder—fill it with choice bones.
nimm das Beste von der Herde und mache ein Feuer darunter, Knochenstücke zu kochen, und lass es getrost sieden und die Knochenstücke darin wohl kochen.
Take the choicest of the flock and pile the fuel beneath it. Bring it to a boil and cook the bones in it.’
Darum spricht der Herr HERR: O der mörderischen Stadt, die ein solcher Topf ist, da der Rost daran klebt und nicht abgehen will! Tue ein Stück nach dem andern heraus; und du darfst nicht darum losen, welches zuerst heraus soll.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Woe to the city of bloodshed, to the pot now rusted, whose rust will not come off! Empty it piece by piece; cast no lots for its contents (note: Or let no lot fall upon it).
Denn ihr Blut ist darin, das sie auf einen bloßen Felsen und nicht auf die Erde verschüttet hat, da man's doch hätte mit Erde können zuscharren.
For the blood she shed is still within her; she poured it out on the bare rock; she did not pour it on the ground to cover it with dust.
Und ich habe auch darum sie lassen das Blut auf einen bloßen Felsen schütten, dass es nicht zugescharrt würde, auf dass der Grimm über sie käme und es gerächt würde.
In order to stir up wrath and take vengeance, I have placed her blood on the bare rock, so that it would not be covered.’
Darum spricht der Herr HERR also: O du mörderische Stadt, welche ich will zu einem großen Feuer machen!
Yes, this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Woe to the city of bloodshed! I, too, will pile the kindling high.
Trage nur viel Holz her, zünde das Feuer an, dass das Fleisch gar werde, und würze es wohl, und die Knochenstücke sollen anbrennen.
Pile on the logs and kindle the fire; cook the meat well and mix in the spices; let the bones be burned.
Lege auch den Topf leer auf die Glut, auf dass er heiß werde und sein Erz entbrenne, ob seine Unreinigkeit zerschmelzen und sein Rost abgehen wolle.
Set the empty pot on its coals until it becomes hot and its copper glows. Then its impurity will melt within; its rust will be consumed.
Aber wie sehr er brennt, will sein Rost doch nicht abgehen, denn es ist zuviel des Rosts; er muss im Feuer zerschmelzen.
It has frustrated every effort; its thick rust has not been removed, even by the fire.
Deine Unreinigkeit ist so verhärtet, dass, ob ich dich gleich reinigen wollte, dennoch du nicht willst dich reinigen lassen von deiner Unreinigkeit. Darum kannst du hinfort nicht wieder rein werden, bis mein Grimm sich an dir gekühlt habe.
Because of the indecency of your uncleanness I tried to cleanse you, but you would not be purified from your filthiness. You will not be pure again until My wrath against you has subsided.
Ich, der HERR, habe es geredet! Es soll kommen, ich will's tun und nicht säumen; ich will nicht schonen noch mich's reuen lassen; sondern sie sollen dich richten, wie du gelebt und getan hast, spricht der Herr HERR.
I, the LORD, have spoken; the time is coming, and I will act. I will not refrain or show pity, nor will I relent. I will judge you according to your ways and deeds,’ declares the Lord GOD.”
Du Menschenkind, siehe, ich will dir deiner Augen Lust nehmen durch eine Plage, aber du sollst nicht klagen noch weinen noch eine Träne lassen.
“Son of man, behold, I am about to take away the desire of your eyes with a fatal blow. But you must not mourn or weep or let your tears flow.
Heimlich magst du seufzen, aber keine Totenklage führen; sondern du sollst deinen Schmuck anlegen und deine Schuhe anziehen. Du sollst deinen Mund nicht verhüllen und nicht das Trauerbrot essen.
Groan quietly; do not mourn for the dead. Put on your turban and strap your sandals on your feet; do not cover your lips or eat the bread of mourners.”
Und da ich des Morgens früh zum Volk geredet hatte, starb mir am Abend mein Weib. Und ich tat des andern Morgens, wie mir befohlen war.
So I spoke to the people in the morning, and in the evening my wife died. And the next morning I did as I had been commanded.
Und das Volk sprach zu mir: Willst du uns nicht anzeigen, was uns das bedeutet, was du tust?
Then the people asked me, “Won’t you tell us what these things you are doing mean to us?”
Und ich sprach zu ihnen: Der HERR hat mir geredet und gesagt:
So I answered them, “The word of the LORD came to me, saying:
Sage dem Hause Israel, dass der Herr HERR spricht also: Siehe, ich will mein Heiligtum, euren höchsten Trost, die Lust eurer Augen und eures Herzens Wunsch entheiligen; und euer Söhne und Töchter, die ihr verlassen musstet, werden durchs Schwert fallen.
Tell the house of Israel that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I am about to desecrate My sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and the delight of your soul. And the sons and daughters you left behind will fall by the sword.’
Und müsst tun, wie ich getan habe: euren Mund sollt ihr nicht verhüllen und das Trauerbrot nicht essen,
Then you will do as I have done: You will not cover your lips or eat the bread of mourners.
sondern sollt euren Schmuck auf euer Haupt setzen und eure Schuhe anziehen. Ihr werdet nicht klagen noch weinen, sondern über eure Sünden verschmachten und untereinander seufzen.
Your turbans will remain on your heads and your sandals on your feet. You will not mourn or weep, but you will waste away because of your sins, and you will groan among yourselves.
Und soll also Hesekiel euch ein Wunderzeichen sein, dass ihr tun müsst, wie er getan hat, wenn es nun kommen wird, damit ihr erfahrt, dass ich der Herr HERR bin.
‘Thus Ezekiel will be a sign for you; you will do everything that he has done. When this happens, you will know that I am the Lord GOD.’
Und du, Menschenkind, zu der Zeit, wann ich wegnehmen werde von ihnen ihre Macht und ihren Trost, die Lust ihrer Augen und des Herzens Wunsch, ihre Söhne und Töchter,
And you, son of man, know that on the day I take away their stronghold, their pride and joy—the desire of their eyes which uplifted their souls—and their sons and daughters as well,
ja, zur selben Zeit wird einer, so entronnen ist, zu dir kommen und dir's kundtun.
on that day a fugitive will come and tell you the news.
Zur selben Zeit wird dein Mund aufgetan werden samt dem, der entronnen ist, dass du reden sollst und nicht mehr schweigen; denn du musst ihr Wunderzeichen sein, dass sie erfahren, ich sei der HERR.
On that day your mouth will be opened to him who has escaped; you will speak and no longer be mute. So you will be a sign to them, and they will know that I am the LORD.”
