Εἰπὸν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραήλ, καὶ λάβετε ἀπαρχὰς παρὰ πάντων οἷς ἆν δόξῃ τῇ καρδία· καὶ λήμψεσθε τὰς ἀπαρχάς μου.
“Tell the Israelites to bring Me an offering. You are to receive My offering from every man whose heart compels him.
καὶ αὕτη ἐστὶν ἡ ἀπαρχὴ ἣν λήμψεσθε παρ’ αὐτῶν· χρυσίον καὶ ἀργύριον καὶ χαλκόν,
This is the offering you are to accept from them: gold, silver, and bronze;
καὶ ὑάκινθον καὶ πορφύραν καὶ κόκκινον διπλοῦν καὶ βύσσον κεκλω, καὶ τρίχας αἰγίας,
blue, purple, and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair;
καὶ δέρματα κριῶν ἠρυθροδανωμένα καὶ ὑακίνθινα, καὶ ξύλα ἄσηπτα,
ram skins dyed red and fine leather (note: Possibly the hides of large aquatic mammals); acacia wood;
καὶ λίθους σαρδίου καὶ λίθους εἰς τὴν γλυφήν, εἰς τὴν ἐπωμίδα καὶ τὸν ποδήρη.
olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;
καὶ ποιήσεις μοι ἁγίασμα, καὶ ὀφθήσομαι ἐν ὑμῖν·
and onyx stones and gemstones to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.
καὶ ποιήσεις μοι κατὰ πάντα ὅσα σοι δεικνύω ἐν τῷ ὄρει, τὸ παράδειγμα τῆς σκηνῆς καὶ τὸ παράδειγμα πάντων τῶν σκευῶν αὐτῆς, οὕτω ποιήσεις.
And they are to make a sanctuary for Me, so that I may dwell among them.
Καὶ ποιήσεις κιβωτὸν μαρτυρίου ἐκ ξύλων ἀσήπτων, δύο πήχεων καὶ ἡμίσους τὸ μῆκος, καὶ πήχεος καὶ ἡμίσους τὸ πλάτος, καὶ πήχεος καὶ ἡμίσους τὸ ὕψος.
You must make the tabernacle and design all its furnishings according to the pattern I show you.
καὶ καταχρυσώσεις αὐτὴν χρυσίῳ καθαρῷ, ἔξωθεν καὶ ἔσωθεν χρυσώσεις αὐτήν· καὶ ποιήσεις αὐτῇ κυμάτια στρεπτὰ χρυσᾶ κύκλῳ.
And they are to construct an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high (note: The ark was approximately 3.75 feet long, 2.25 feet wide, and 2.25 feet high (114.3 centimeters long, 68.6 centimeters wide, and 68.6 centimeters high).).
καὶ ἐλάσεις αὐτῇ τέσσαρες δακτυλίους χρυσοῦς καὶ ἐπιθήσεις ἐπὶ τὰ τέσσερα κλίτη. δύο δακτυλίους ἐπὶ τὸ κλίτος τὸ ἕν, καὶ δύο δακτυλίους ἐπὶ τὸ κλίτος τὸ δεύτερον.
Overlay it with pure gold both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it.
ποιήσεις δὲ ἀναφορεῖς ξύλα ἄσηπτα, καὶ καταχρυσώσεις αὐτὰ χρυσίῳ·
Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, two rings on one side and two on the other.
καὶ εἰσάξεις τοὺς ἀναφορεῖς εἰς τοὺς δακτυλίους τοὺς ἐν τοῖς κλίτεσι τῆς κιβωτοῦ, αἴρειν τὴν κιβωτὸν ἐν αὐτοῖς·
And make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.
ἐν τοῖς δακτυλίοις τῆς κιβωτοῦ ἔσονται οἱ ἀναφορεῖς ἀκίνητοι.
Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, in order to carry it.
καὶ ἐμβαλεῖν εἰς τὴν κιβωτὸν τὰ μαρτυρία ἃ ἄν δῶ σοι.
The poles are to remain in the rings of the ark; they must not be removed.
καὶ ποιήσεις ἱλαστήριον ἐπί χρυσίου καθαροῦ, δύο πηχῶν καὶ ἡμίσους τὸ μῆκος, καὶ πῆχεος καὶ ἡμίσους τὸ πλάτος.
And place inside the ark the Testimony (note: The Testimony refers to the stone tablets in the ark of the covenant inscribed with the Ten Commandments; also in verses 21 and 22.), which I will give you.
καὶ ποιήσεις δύο χερουβεὶμ χρυσοτορευτά, καὶ ἐπιθήσεις αὐτὰ ἐξ ἀμφοτέρων τῶν κλιτῶν τοῦ ἱλαστηρίου·
And you are to construct a mercy seat (note: Or an atonement cover; here and throughout Exodus) of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide (note: The mercy seat was approximately 3.75 feet long and 2.25 feet wide (114.3 centimeters long and 68.6 centimeters wide).).
ποιήσονται χεροὺβ εἷς ἐκ τοῦ κλίτους τούτου καὶ χεροὺβ εἷς ἐκ τοῦ κλίτους τοῦ δευτέρου τοῦ ἱλαστηρίου· καὶ ποιήσεις τοὺς δύο χερουβεὶμ ἐπὶ τὰ δύο κλίτη.
Make two cherubim of hammered gold at the ends of the mercy seat,
ἔσονται οἱ χερουβεὶμ ἐκτείνοντες τὰς πτέρυγας ἐπάνωθεν, συσκιάζοντες ἐν ταῖς πτέρυξιν αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τοῦ ἱλαστηρίου, καὶ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν εἰς ἄλληλα· εῖς τὸ ἱλαστήριον ἔσονται τὰ πρόσωπα τῶν χερουβείν.
one cherub on one end and one on the other, all made from one piece of gold.
καὶ τὸ ἱλαστήριον ἐπὶ τὴν κιβωτὸν ἄνωθεν, καὶ εἰς τὴν κίβωτον ἐμβαλεῖς τὰ μαρτύρια ἃ ἄν δῶ σοι.
And the cherubim are to have wings that spread upward, overshadowing the mercy seat. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the mercy seat.
καὶ γνωσθήσομαί σοι ἐκεῖθεν, καὶ λαλήσω σοι ἄνωθεν τοῦ ἱλαστηρίου ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν δύο χερουβεὶν τῶν ὄντων ἐπὶ τῆς κιβωτοῦ τοῦ μαρτυρίου, καὶ κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἄν ἐντείλωμαί σοι πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰσραήλ.
Set the mercy seat atop the ark and put the Testimony that I will give you into the ark.
Καὶ ποιήσεις τράπεζαν χρυσῆν χρυσίου καθαροῦ δύο πήχεων τὸ μῆκος, καὶ πήχεος τὸ εὖρος, καὶ πήχεος κα ἡμίσους τὸ ὕψος.
And I will meet with you there above the mercy seat, between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the Testimony (note: That is, the ark of the covenant); I will speak with you about all that I command you regarding the Israelites.
καὶ ποιήσεις αὐτῇ στρεπτὰ κυμάτια χρυσᾶ κύκλῳ. καὶ ποιήσεις αὐτῇ στεφάνην παλαιστοῦ κύκλῳ·
You are also to make a table of acacia wood two cubits long, a cubit wide, and a cubit and a half high (note: The table was approximately 3 feet long, 1.5 feet wide, and 2.25 feet high (91.4 centimeters long, 45.7 centimeters wide, and 68.6 centimeters high).).
καὶ ποιήσεις στρεπτὸν κυμάτιον τῇ στεφάνῃ κύκλῳ.
Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold molding around it.
καὶ ποιήσεις τέσσαρες δακτυλίους χρυσοῦς, καὶ ἐπιθήσεις τοὺς τέσσαρες δακτυλίους ἐπὶ τὰ τέσσερα μέρη τῶν ποδῶν αὐτῆς (27) ὑπὸ τὴν στεφάνην·
And make a rim around it a handbreadth wide (note: A handbreadth is approximately 2.9 inches or 7.4 centimeters.) and put a gold molding on the rim.
καὶ ἔσονται οἱ δακτύλιοι εἰς θήκας τοῖς ἀναφορεῦσιν, ὥστε αἴρειν ἐν αὐτοῖς τὴν τράπεζαν.
Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners at its four legs.
καὶ ποιήσεις τοὺς ἀναφορεῖς ἐκ ξύλων ἀσήπτων, καὶ καταχρυσώσεις αὐτοὺς χρυσίῳ καθαρῷ, καὶ ἀρθήσεται ἐν αὐτοῖς ἡ τράπεζα.
The rings are to be close to the rim, to serve as holders for the poles used to carry the table.
καὶ ποιήσεις τὰ τρύβλια καὶ τὰς θυίσκας καὶ τὰ σπόνδια καὶ τοὺς κυάθους, οἷς ἐν αὐτοῖς, χρυσίου καθαροῦ ποιήσεις αὐτά.
Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold, so that the table may be carried with them.
καὶ ἐπιθήσεις ἐπὶ τὴν τράπεζαν ἄρτους ἐνωπίους ἐναντίον μου διὰ παντός.
You are also to make the plates and dishes, as well as the pitchers and bowls for pouring drink offerings. Make them out of pure gold.
Καὶ ποιήσεις λυχνίαν ἐκ χρυσίου καθαροῦ, τορευτὴν ποιήσεις τὴν λυχνίαν· ὁ καυλὸς αὐτῆς καὶ οἱ καλαμίσκοι καὶ οἱ κρατῆρες κοὶ οἱ σφαιρωτῆρες καὶ τὰ κρίνα ἐξ αὐτῆς ἔσται.
And place the Bread of the Presence on the table before Me at all times.
ἕξ δὲ καλαμίσκοι ἐκπορευόμενοι ἐκ πλαγίων, τρεῖς καλαμίσκοι τῆς λυχνίας ἐκ τοῦ κλίτους αὐτῆς τοῦ ἑνός, καὶ τρεῖς καλαμίσκοι τῆς λυχνίας ἐκ τοῦ κλίτους τοῦ δευτέρου.
Then you are to make a lampstand of pure, hammered gold. It shall be made of one piece, including its base and shaft, its cups, and its buds and petals.
καὶ τρεῖς κρατῆρες ἐκτετυπωμένοι καρυίσκους· ἐν τῷ ἑνὶ καλαμίσκῳ σφαιρωτὴρ καὶ κρίνον· οὕτως τοῖς ἓξ καλαμίσκοις τοῖς ἐκπορευομένοις ἐκ τῆς λυχνίας.
Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand—three on one side and three on the other.
καὶ ἐν τῇ λυχνίᾳ τέσσαρες κρατῆρες ἐκτετυπωμένοι καρυίσκους· ἐν τῷ ἑνὶ καλαμίσκῳ σφαιρωτῆρες καὶ τὰ κρίνα αὐτῆς.
There are to be three cups shaped like almond blossoms on the first branch, each with buds and petals, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches that extend from the lampstand.
ὁ σφαιρωτὴρ ὑπὸ τοὺς δύο καλαμίσκους ἐξ αὐτῆς, καὶ σφαιρωτὴρ ὑπὸ τοὺς τέσσαρες καλαμίσκους ἐξ αὐτῆς· οὕτως τοῖς ἕξ καλαμίσκοις τοῖς ἐκπορευομένοις ἐκ τῆς λυχνίας.
And on the lampstand there shall be four cups shaped like almond blossoms with buds and petals.
καὶ ἐν τῇ λυχνίᾳ τέσσαρες κρατῆρες ἐκτετυπωμένοι καρυίσκους.
For the six branches that extend from the lampstand, a bud must be under the first pair of branches, a bud under the second pair, and a bud under the third pair.
οἱ σφαιρωτῆρες καὶ οἱ καλαμίσκοι ἐξ αὐτῆς ἔστωσαν· ὅλη τορευτὴ ἐξ ἑνὸς χρυσίου καθαροῦ.
The buds and branches are to be all of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.
καὶ ποιήσεις τοὺς λύχνους αὐτῆς ἑπτά· καὶ ἐπιθήσεις τοὺς λύχνους, καὶ φανοῦσιν ἐκ τοῦ ἑνὸς προσώπου.
Make seven lamps and set them up on the lampstand so that they illuminate the area in front of it.
καὶ τὸν ἐπαρυστῆρα αὐτῆς καὶ τὰ ὑποθέματα αὐτῆς ἐκ χρυσίου καθαροῦ ποιήσεις·
The wick trimmers and their trays must be of pure gold.
πάντα τὰ σκεύη ταῦτα τάλαντον χρυσίου καθαροῦ. φόρα κατὰ τὸν τύπον τὸν δεδειγμένον σοι ἐν τῷ ὄρει.
The lampstand and all these utensils shall be made from a talent of pure gold (note: A talent is approximately 75.4 pounds or 34.2 kilograms of gold.).
