So sollst du nun den HErrn, deinen Gott, lieben und sein Gesetz, seine Weise, seine Rechte halten dein Leben lang.
You shall therefore love the LORD your God and always keep His charge, His statutes, His ordinances, and His commandments.
Und erkennet heute, was eure Kinder nicht wissen noch gesehen haben, nämlich die Züchtigung des HErrn, eures Gottes, seine Herrlichkeit, dazu seine mächtige Hand und ausgereckten Arm
Know this day that it is not your children who have known and seen the discipline of the LORD your God: His greatness, His mighty hand, and His outstretched arm;
und seine Zeichen und Werke, die er getan hat unter den Ägyptern, an Pharao, dem König in Ägypten, und am allem seinem Lande;
the signs and works He did in Egypt to Pharaoh king of Egypt and all his land;
und was er an der Macht der Ägypter getan hat, an ihren Rossen und Wagen, da er das Wasser des Schilfmeers über sie führte, da sie euch nachjagten und sie der HErr umbrachte bis auf diesen Tag;
what He did to the Egyptian army and horses and chariots when He made the waters of the Red Sea (note: Or the Sea of Reeds) engulf them as they pursued you, and how He destroyed them completely, even to this day;
und was er euch getan hat in der Wüste, bis ihr an diesen Ort gekommen seid;
what He did for you in the wilderness until you reached this place;
was er Dathan und Abiram getan hat, den Kindern Eliabs, des Sohnes Rubens, wie die Erde ihren Mund auftat und verschlang sie mit Gesinde und Hütten und allem ihrem Gut, das sie erworben hatten, mitten unter dem ganzen Israel.
and what He did in the midst of all the Israelites to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab the Reubenite, when the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, their households, their tents, and every living thing that belonged to them.
Denn eure Augen haben die großen Werke des HErrn gesehen, die er getan hat.
For it is your own eyes that have seen every great work that the LORD has done.
Darum sollt ihr alle die Gebote halten, die ich dir heute gebiete, auf dass ihr gestärkt werdet, hineinzukommen und das Land einzunehmen, dahin ihr ziehet, dass ihr's einnehmet;
You shall therefore keep every commandment I am giving you today, so that you may have the strength to go in and possess the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,
und dass du lange lebest in dem Lande, das der HErr euren Vätern geschworen hat ihnen zu geben und ihrem Samen, ein Land, darin Milch und Honig fließt.
and so that you may live long in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers to give them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.
Denn das Land, da du hin kommst, ist nicht wie Ägyptenland, davon ihr ausgezogen seid, da du deinen Samen säen und selbst tränken musstest wie einen Kohlgarten;
For the land that you are entering to possess is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and irrigated on foot, like a vegetable garden.
sondern es hat Berge und Auen, die der Regen vom Himmel tränkt,
But the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks in the rain from heaven.
auf welch Land der HErr, dein Gott, acht hat und die Augen des HErrn, deines Gottes, immerdar sehen, von Anfang des Jahres bis ans Ende.
It is a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning to the end of the year.
Werdet ihr nun meine Gebote hören, die ich euch gebiete, dass ihr den HErrn, euren Gott, liebet und ihm dienet von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele,
So if you carefully obey the commandments I am giving you today, to love the LORD your God and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,
so will ich eurem Land Regen geben zu seiner Zeit, Frühregen und Spätregen, dass du einsammelst dein Getreide, deinen Most und dein Öl,
then I will provide (note: Hebrew; SP, LXX, and Vulgate He will provide; also in verse 15) rain for your land in season, the autumn and spring rains, that you may gather your grain, new wine, and oil.
und will deinem Vieh Gras geben auf deinem Felde, dass ihr esset und satt werdet.
And I will provide grass in the fields for your livestock, and you will eat and be satisfied.
Hütet euch aber, dass sich euer Herz nicht überreden lasse, dass ihr abweichet und dienet andern Göttern und betet sie an,
But be careful that you are not enticed to turn aside to worship and bow down to other gods,
und dass dann der Zorn des HErrn ergrimme über euch und schließe den Himmel zu, dass kein Regen komme und die Erde ihr Gewächs nicht gebe und ihr bald umkommt von dem guten Lande, das euch der HErr gegeben hat.
or the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you. He will shut the heavens so that there will be no rain, nor will the land yield its produce, and you will soon perish from the good land that the LORD is giving you.
So fasset nun diese Worte zu Herzen und in eure Seele und bindet sie zum Zeichen auf eure Hand, dass sie ein Denkmal vor euren Augen seien.
Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
Und lehret sie eure Kinder, dass du davon redest, wenn du in deinem Hause sitzest oder auf dem Wege gehst, wenn du dich niederlegst und wenn du aufstehst;
Teach them to your children, speaking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
und schreibe sie an die Pfosten deines Hauses und an die Tore,
Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates,
dass du und deine Kinder lange leben in dem Lande, das der HErr deinen Vätern geschworen hat ihnen zu geben, solange die Tage vom Himmel auf Erden währen.
so that as long as the heavens are above the earth, your days and those of your children may be multiplied in the land that the LORD swore to give your fathers.
Denn wo ihr diese Gebote alle werdet halten, die ich euch gebiete, dass ihr darnach tut, dass ihr den HErrn, euren Gott, liebet und wandelt in allen seinen Wegen und ihm anhanget,
For if you carefully keep all these commandments I am giving you to follow—to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him—
so wir der HErr alle diese Völker vor euch her ausstoßen, dass ihr größere und stärkere Völker vertreibt, denn ihr seid.
then the LORD will drive out all these nations before you, and you will dispossess nations greater and stronger than you.
Alle Orte, darauf eure Fußsohle tritt, sollen euer sein; von der Wüste an und von dem Berge Libanon und von dem Wasser Euphrat bis ans Meer gegen Abend soll eure Grenze sein.
Every place where the sole of your foot treads will be yours. Your territory will extend from the wilderness to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the Western Sea (note: That is, the Mediterranean Sea, also called the Great Sea).
Niemand wird euch widerstehen können. Furcht und Schrecken vor euch wird der HErr über alles Land kommen lassen, darauf ihr tretet, wie er euch verheißen hat.
No man will be able to stand against you; the LORD your God will put the fear and dread of you upon all the land, wherever you set foot, as He has promised you.
Siehe, ich lege euch heute vor den Segen und den Fluch:
See, today I am setting before you a blessing and a curse—
den Segen so ihr gehorchet den Geboten des Herrn, eures Gottes, die ich euch heute gebiete;
a blessing if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God that I am giving you today,
den Fluch aber, so ihr nicht gehorchen werdet den Geboten des HErrn, eures Gottes, und abweichet von dem Wege, den ich euch heute gebiete, dass ihr andern Göttern nachwandelt, die ihr nicht kennt.
but a curse if you disobey the commandments of the LORD your God and turn aside from the path I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known.
Wenn dich der HErr, dein Gott, in das Land bringt, da du hineinkommst, dass du es einnehmest, so sollst du den Segen sprechen lassen auf dem Berge Garizim und den Fluch auf dem Berge Ebal,
When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess, you are to proclaim the blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal.
welche sind jenseit des Jordans, der Straße nach gegen der Sonne Niedergang, im Lande der Kanaaniter, die auf dem Blachfelde wohnen, Gilgal gegenüber, bei dem Hain More.
Are not these mountains across the Jordan, west of the road toward the sunset, in the land of the Canaanites who live in the Arabah opposite Gilgal near the Oak (note: SP, LXX, and Syriac (see Genesis 12:6); Hebrew Oaks or Terebinths or Great Trees) of Moreh?
Denn ihr werdet über den Jordan gehen, dass ihr hineinkommet, das Land einzunehmen, das euch der HErr, euer Gott, gegeben hat, dass ihr's einnehmet und darin wohnet.
For you are about to cross the Jordan to enter and possess the land that the LORD your God is giving you. When you take possession of it and settle in it,
So haltet nun, dass ihr tut nach allen Geboten und Rechten, die ich euch heute vorlege.
be careful to follow all the statutes and ordinances that I am setting before you today.
