Und da Salomo ausgebetet hatte, fiel ein Feuer vom Himmel und verzehrte das Brandopfer und die anderen Opfer; und die Herrlichkeit des HErrn erfüllte das Haus,
When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.
dass die Priester nicht konnten hineingehen ins Haus des HErrn, weil die Herrlichkeit des HErrn füllte des HErrn Haus.
The priests were unable to enter the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled it.
Auch sahen alle Kinder Israel das Feuer herabfallen und die Herrlichkeit des HErrn über dem Hause, und fielen auf ihre Kniee mit dem Antlitz zur Erde aufs Pflaster und beteten an und dankten dem HErrn, dass er gütig ist und seine Barmherzigkeit ewiglich währet.
When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the LORD above the temple, they bowed down on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD: “For He is good; His loving devotion endures forever.”
Der König aber und alles Volk opferten vor dem HErrn;
Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD.
denn der König Salomo opferte zweiundzwanzigtausend Ochsen und hundertzwanzigtausend Schafe. Und also weihten sie das Haus Gottes ein, der König und alles Volk.
And King Solomon offered a sacrifice of 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.
Aber die Priester standen in ihrem Dienst und die Leviten mit den Saitenspielen des HErrn, die der König David hatte machen lassen, dem HErrn zu danken, dass seine Barmherzigkeit ewiglich währet, mit den Psalmen Davids durch ihre Hand; und die Priester bliesen die Drommeten ihnen gegenüber, und das ganze Israel stand.
The priests stood at their posts, as did the Levites with the musical instruments of the LORD, which King David had made for giving thanks to the LORD and with which David had offered praise, saying, “For His loving devotion endures forever.” Across from the Levites, the priests sounded trumpets, and all the Israelites were standing.
Und Salomo heiligte die Mitte des Hofes, der vor dem Hause des HErrn war; denn er hatte daselbst Brandopfer und das Fett der Dankopfer ausgerichtet. Denn der eherne Altar, den Salomo hatte machen lassen, konnte nicht alle Brandopfer, Speisopfer und das Fett fassen.
Then Solomon consecrated the middle of the courtyard in front of the house of the LORD, and there he offered the burnt offerings and the fat of the peace offerings, since the bronze altar he had made could not hold all these offerings.
Und Salomo hielt zu derselben Zeit ein Fest sieben Tage lang und das ganze Israel mit ihm, eine sehr große Gemeinde, von Hamath an bis an den Bach Ägyptens,
So at that time Solomon and all Israel with him—a very great assembly of people from Lebo-hamath to the Brook of Egypt—kept the feast (note: That is, the Feast of Tabernacles (or Booths or Shelters); see Leviticus 23:33–36.) for seven days.
und hielt am achten Tag eine Versammlung; denn die Einweihung des Altars hielten sie sieben Tage und das Fest auch sieben Tage.
On the eighth day they held a solemn assembly, for the dedication of the altar had lasted seven days, and the feast seven days more.
Aber am dreiundzwanzigsten Tag des siebenten Monats ließ er das Volk heimgehen in ihre Hütten fröhlich und guten Muts über allem Guten, das der HErr an David, Salomo und seinem Volk Israel getan hatte.
On the twenty-third day of the seventh month, Solomon sent the people away to their homes, joyful and glad of heart for the good things that the LORD had done for David, for Solomon, and for His people Israel.
Also vollendete Salomo das Haus des HErrn und das Haus des Königs; und alles, was in sein Herz gekommen war, zu machen im Hause des HErrn und in seinem Hause, gelang ihm.
When Solomon had finished the house of the LORD and the royal palace, successfully carrying out all that was in his heart to do for the house of the LORD and for his own palace,
Und der HErr erschien Salomo des Nachts und sprach zu ihm: Ich habe dein Gebet erhört und diese Stätte mir erwählt zum Opferhause.
the LORD appeared to him at night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.
Siehe, wenn ich den Himmel zuschließe, dass es nicht regnet, oder heiße die Heuschrecken das Land fressen oder lasse Pestilenz unter mein Volk kommen,
If I close the sky so there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send a plague among My people,
und mein Volk sich demütigt, das nach meinem Namen genannt ist, dass sie beten und mein Angesicht suchen und sich von ihren bösen Wegen bekehren werden: so will ich vom Himmel hören und ihre Sünde vergeben und ihr Land heilen.
and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
So sollen nun meine Augen offen sein und meine Ohren aufmerken auf das Gebet an dieser Stätte.
Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.
So habe ich nun dies Haus erwählt und geheiligt, dass mein Name daselbst sein soll ewiglich und meine Augen und mein Herz soll da sein allewege.
For I have now chosen and consecrated this temple so that My Name may be there forever. My eyes and My heart will be there for all time.
Und so du wirst vor mir wandeln, wie dein Vater David gewandelt hat, dass du tust alles, was ich dich heiße, und hältst meine Gebote und Rechte:
And as for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, doing all I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and ordinances,
so will ich den Stuhl deines Königreichs bestätigen, wie ich mich deinem Vater David verbunden habe und gesagt: Es soll dir nicht gebrechen an einem Manne, der über Israel Herr sei.
then I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with your father David when I said, ‘You will never fail to have a man to rule over Israel.’
Werdet ihr euch aber umkehren und meine Rechte und Gebote, die ich euch vorgelegt habe, verlassen und hingehen und andern Göttern dienen und sie anbeten:
But if you turn away and forsake the statutes and commandments I have set before you, and if you go off to serve and worship other gods,
so werde ich sie auswurzeln aus meinem Lande, das ich ihnen gegeben habe; und dies Haus, das ich meinem Namen geheiligt habe, werde ich von meinem Angesicht werfen und werde es zum Sprichwort machen und zur Fabel unter allen Völkern.
then I will uproot Israel from the soil I have given them, and I will banish from My presence this temple I have sanctified for My Name. I will make it an object of scorn and ridicule among all the peoples.
Und vor diesem Haus, das das höchste gewesen ist, werden sich entsetzen alle, die vorübergehen, und sagen: Warum ist der HErr mit diesem Lande und diesem Hause also verfahren?
And when this temple has become a heap of rubble (note: Some LXX manuscripts, Syriac, and Arabic; Hebrew And though this temple is now exalted; see also 1 Kings 9:8.), all who pass by it will be appalled and say, ‘Why has the LORD done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’
so wird man sagen: Darum dass sie den HErrn, ihrer Väter Gott, verlassen haben, der sie aus Ägyptenland geführt hat, und haben sich an andere Götter gehängt und sie angebetet und ihnen gedient, darum hat er all dies Unglück über sie gebracht.
And others will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them—because of this, He has brought all this disaster upon them.’”
