Und David hielt einen Rat mit den Hauptleuten über tausend und über hundert und mit allen Fürsten
Then David conferred with all his leaders, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds.
und sprach zu der ganzen Gemeinde Israel: Gefällt es euch und ist's vom HErrn, unsrem Gott, so lasst uns allenthalben ausschicken zu unsren andern Brüdern in allen Landen Israels und mit ihnen zu den Priestern und Leviten in den Städten, da sie Vorstädte haben, dass sie zu uns versammelt werden,
And he said to the whole assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if this is of the LORD our God, let us send word far and wide to the rest of our brothers in all the land of Israel, and also to the priests and Levites in their cities and pasturelands, so that they may join us.
und lasst uns die Lade unsres Gottes zu uns wieder holen; denn zu den Zeiten Sauls fragten wir nicht nach ihr.
Then let us bring back the ark of our God, for we did not inquire of Him (note: Or of it) in the days of Saul.”
Da sprach die ganze Gemeinde, man sollte also tun; denn solches gefiel allem Volk wohl.
And because this proposal seemed right to all the people, the whole assembly agreed to it.
Also versammelte David das ganze Israel, vom Sihor Ägyptens an, bis man kommt gen Hamath, die Lade Gottes zu holen von Kirjath-Jearim.
So David assembled all Israel, from the River Shihor in Egypt to Lebo-hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim.
Und David zog hinauf mit ganz Israel gen Baala, nach Kirjath-Jearim, welches liegt in Juda, dass er von da heraufbrächte die Lade Gottes, des HErrn, der auf dem Cherubim sitzt, da der Name angerufen wird.
David and all Israel went up to Baalah of Judah (that is, Kiriath-jearim) to bring up from there the ark of God the LORD, who is enthroned between the cherubim—the ark that is called by the Name (note: Or the ark of God, which is called by the Name of the LORD who is enthroned between the cherubim; or the ark of God, the LORD, who is enthroned between the cherubim, where His Name is called).
Und sie ließen die Lade Gottes auf einem neuen Wagen führen aus dem Hause Abinadabs. Usa aber und sein Bruder trieben den Wagen.
So they carried the ark of God from the house of Abinadab on a new cart, with Uzzah and Ahio guiding the cart.
David aber und das ganze Israel spielten vor Gott her aus ganzer Macht mit Liedern, mit Harfen, mit Psaltern, mit Pauken, mit Zimbeln, und mit Posaunen.
David and all the Israelites were celebrating before God with all their might, with songs and on harps and lyres, with tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.
Da sie aber kamen zur Tenne Chidon, reckte Usa seine Hand aus, die Lade zu halten; denn die Rinder schritten beiseit aus.
When they came to the threshing floor of Chidon (note: Chidon is a variant of Nacon; see 2 Samuel 6:6.), Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark, because the oxen had stumbled.
Da erzürnte der Grimm des HErrn über Usa, und er schlug ihn, darum dass er seine Hand hatte ausgereckt an die Lade, dass er daselbst starb vor Gott.
And the anger of the LORD burned against Uzzah, and He struck him down because he had put his hand on the ark. So he died there before God.
Da ward David traurig, dass der HErr den Usa wegriss, und hieß die Stätte Perez-Usa bis auf diesen Tag.
Then David became angry because the LORD had burst forth against Uzzah. So he named that place Perez-uzzah (note: Perez-uzzah means outbreak against Uzzah.), as it is called to this day.
Und David fürchtete sich vor Gott des Tages und sprach: Wie soll ich die Lade Gottes zu mir bringen?
That day David feared God and asked, “How can I ever bring the ark of God to me?”
Darum ließ er die Lade Gottes nicht zu sich bringen in die Stadt Davids, sondern lenkte sie hin ins Haus Obed-Edoms, des Gahtiters.
So he did not move the ark with him to the City of David; instead, he took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
Also blieb die Lade Gottes bei Obed-Edom in seinem Hause drei Monate. Und der HErr segnete das Haus Obed-Edoms und alles, was er hatte.
Thus the ark of God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house for three months, and the LORD blessed his household and everything he owned.
